High Touch Service in No-Touch Times with Elaine Lou Cartas

In today’s episode I’m answering three questions (submitted by students) about affiliate partnerships, making mistakes, supporting partners in launches, and caring for our mental health as business owners.

I’m here to answer their questions and give my thoughts on saving time during a launch, reflecting on our mistakes, efficiently creating content for every launch mechanism, and supporting our mental health while running our businesses.

Listen to hear why we need to reflect on our mistakes, including:

  • [1:16] The number one mistake people make in affiliate partner programs is not having enough time. If you put in the time before the launch, you’ll save time during it. Make sure you give yourself enough time to create content, share information with partners, test the tech, etc.,
  • [10:41] Reflect on your mistakes and remember that things won’t always be perfect. Give yourself grace and remember that mistakes are an opportunity to grow and improve. Keeping a spreadsheet of mistakes is a great way to reflect on them later and avoid them in the future.
  • [12:06] Create at least one piece of content for every launch mechanism. Every piece of content you make for partners is leveraged and reaches a wider audience than you could reach on your own. The value you get from creating affiliate content is definitely worth the time and energy.
  • [18:40] Taking care of our mental health is super important, and as business owners it’s crucial for us to remember that we are not our business. Don’t stake everything on the next launch, thing, or strategy. We need to make sure we’re doing our part, but we also need to remember that every single business goes through ups and downs and it’s our responsibility to take care of ourselves (no matter how our business is going).
