Let’s say you’re on vacation at the beach, and you’ve got a mega-hankering for some ice cream.

You walk down the boardwalk and, lo and behold, it appears that there is an incredible ice-cream shop right in front of you! The sign outside is super cute and you know that this place will hit the spot.

You walk in, ready to try some new flavors and ultimately buy a triple-scoop of whatever seems yummiest.

But… there’s no one there.

No-one’s at the counter to greet you. No-one’s behind the register to take your order.

You start to take a look around, but the place begins to seem shabby right before your eyes. What looked like the most promising joint in town is actually a sham.

Disillusioned, you leave and end up finding an ice cream shop a few blocks away to satisfy your cravings.

::::::::::::::::::::::

THE ICE CREAM SHOP IS YOUR TRIBE MAGNET!

And guess what happens when someone signs up {walks in} and there’s no-one there to greet them?

They leave.

The entire point of business is service… so when you leave someone hangin’ right at the start {by not sending them a welcome email}… they are going to end up walking right out the door.

Truly, your chance to make an amazing first impression + convert a tribe member for life has slipped through your fingers if you don’t have a welcome email that automatically gets sent to every new person on your email list.

So let’s put a stop to that right now. Let’s make sure that our people KNOW that they’ve come to the right place for whatever they’re looking for… whether it be interior design help or adrenal support or a better looking headshot.

Let’s craft a welcome email that wins hearts.

In order to do that, you need to make some decisions about your company and how your tribe rolls.

Here are some questions you could answer in your welcome email:

> How does your tribe roll?

  • Do you have a manifesto of some sort? Share it!
  • Do you only hang out in the email inbox or do you like to take the conversation over to your blog comments or a Facebook group? Let people know where they can find you + what you stand for.

> What can they expect to get from you?

  • Do you have a specific schedule of when your latest podcast or vlog drops or are you a bit looser with your blog content? Tell the people who have just joined your community what sort of goodies they can count on.

> Who are you?

  • At this point, people are still warming up to you + your style. Give ’em a little background including some of your street creds {past clients, certificates, years in biz, etc.}
  • You can also add in some personal tidbits, intro your team members, or insert a little dancing gif video, if that’s how your company rolls.

> How do you help people?

  • Feel free to mention the ways that you work with people or maybe some of your favorite products if you have a product-based business. No need to feel salesy, just mention it as part of your welcome + intro!

> What kinds of people do you work with?

  • Here you might have some nice things past clients/customers have said about you {aka testimonials}.
  • You might also consider making a stand for social justice if that’s something that’s important to you. i.e. Here at Soul Fire Revolution LLC {my company}, we accept people of all colors, religions, backgrounds, and abilities, no matter who you love, no matter where you live, no matter who your parents are.

Okay, I’m sure I’ve given you plenty of food for thought at this point 🙂
