I’ve been doing a lot of organizing of my home and space.

It’s felt like a perpetual declutter for years, in fact, because I’m constantly going through piles, weeding out what I want, and trying to overcome the sensation that I’m a huge packrat.

Recently, I had a session with the lovely Sofia Alvim of The Contemporary Goddess to detangle my last area of craziness. I had decluttered my closet (kind of to an extreme when I realized I had no pants), my kitchen, my bathroom, my car, my purse, and my living areas.

All that was left was the office.

Ohh… the office. That fickle fellow.

The papers, notebooks, supplies, and electronics were in piles allllll over the place behind me. They were at my back but I still felt their weighty presence as I typed and spoke, rearranged them so I could do interviews and podcast episodes, and sifted through them to find that specific leaflet long since buried.

She helped me get rid of a lot and envision what I wanted but there was still a mountain to go. I told myself, “As soon as I completely organize my home, I’ll get a cleaning service in here as a reward for myself.”

Days, weeks, and months passed and still that wasn’t enough motivation to get ‘er done.

Now, the time has come.

I’ve literally never been so organized in my entire life. The finish line is just around the bend.

And as I pause and breath this knowledge in, it’s only when I sink into it that it feels good.

If I stay in my mind about it, I get worried and anxious all over again.

“Well, that picture still needs to be hung. And I need to get a rug for under my feet. A new desk might be nice. And a chair. And… and…”

The same feelings can happen when we’re rushing toward any goal… business, health, life, or anything in between.

We first undergo the steps of transformation.

Then we MUST take the time to breath and sink into it.

And then, once more, we take flight, move our energy, and feel into the newfound space we’ve wrought.

As December and the holidays draw near, make sure you’re breathing into the fact that a lot has transformed for you over the past 11 months.

You’ve done a lot. You’ve grown a lot. You’ve changed and shape shifted and molded and conquered. You’ve surely achieved many of your dreams and goals. Visited new places, created with joy, ran with freedom and slept with satisfaction.

Breath into all of that. Breath up the clean, crisp air of the season and take stock of where you’ve been and how far you’ve come.

Then, and only then, can we move with purpose and passion into the coming year with new motivation, guidance, and energy.

Cheers to your wild success,
